Normally my blog posts are clients (unless I can persuade the family to model!) however at the start of 2014 I was lucky to join a photographers' group - My love, My life - where the aim is for us to take some time out and to shoot images of our own children to capture our own memories :), exactly as we love to for our clients. As you all know life flies by and it gets even quicker when you have children, with hardly a moment to think! As a photographer, I have a camera in my hand a lot of the time and I am afraid our children are very camera aware because of it! so it's harder to capture them relaxed and unawares which is my preferred style. My husband and I have three ...
Recently I was discussing how hard it can be to buy gifts for men and it got me thinking about what to buy my husband for his birthday and then also Fathers Day as both are close together. I am a photographer as you may know and I love natural light shoots so it occured to me that I should put my skills to use for my own family. I persuaded my husband and the children to go for a walk to the water near to where we live and the images below were captured on that walk. I am now going to create these and others from the walk into a special present for Fathers day from the children to their Daddy. So if you are looking for a gift for a Dad you know, how about a voucher for a location shoot ...
Yesterday I was up in London with Dan & Tamara checking out the venues for their wedding in October. These guys love the Beatles and really wanted to get married at Marylebone Registry office after seeing images from Paul McCartney's wedding there! They do have quite a few guests going so we may be able to recreate the Paparazzi shots when they come out on the big day! however we took the opportunity of it being quiet to shoot some more romantic images.A quiet moment, a couple very much in love and then time for some fun!On the engagement shoot pre the big day its a great opportunity for my clients to get used to having their photograph taken by me so that on the day itself they are ...
A couple of weeks ago I finally got to shoot my latest 'themed' shoot Little Madam! This one has been a few months in the planning since I saw the most gorgeous tutu skirt at a baby show. Originating from France it cried out to me for my daughter and a natural light location shoot! Missing was a pair of boots and a jacket and a young lady with attitude! My daughter can at times supply the attitude and as you can see from some of the images on the day true to form she did! That saying about not photographing children and animals did come to mind during the shoot as it is especially true for us photographers when we try to photograph our own children! The other little ...
Last Saturday morning, an engagement shoot planned and I woke up to rain! Not the best start however the couple I was photographing were still up for continuing and as their location was Norsey Woods - Billericay, I hoped for some cover from the wet stuff! If it was a wedding we would of course proceed regardless of the weather - I have in fact shot a wedding in a near storm!Marisa & Jamie got engaged very romantically last New Years eve, on the roof of a building in London near Big Ben while the fireworks were going off! and are currently planning their wedding for next year. When discussing the shoot I asked them to think of something special to themselves so ...
